Halifax MZ689 KN-Z took off at 19.05 hours from RAF Full Sutton (near Stamford Bridge, East Yorkshire) to bomb enemy troops and transports in and around Goch. At 22.25 hours it collided with a Halifax from 158 Squadron and crashed 5 kilometres SE of Winnekkendonk where the crew were all buried. After the War ended, the bodies were exhumed and reburied in Reichswald Forest War Cemetery.

The members of the crew who were killed were:
