H. M. S. "Goshawk" was a Shore Establishment and not a ship. It seems Leading Airman Garrett was killed on the Steamship "Almeda Star" along with another 166 crew and 194 passengers on 17th January 1941 with no survivors after torpedoed by U-Boat U-96.
