Private Robert Dylan Vaughan Jones served with 29 Platoon Junior Para Company.
He joined P Company Platoon 447 but was unable to Pass Out with them as he had broken his leg when he jumped in on Armoured Brigade Ex Phantom Bugle (the final recruit training exercise).
When he did Pass Out he went to the 2nd Parachute Regiment.
Pte. Jones died on 27 August 1979, aged just 18 years, as a result of the Warrenpoint bombing in Northern Ireland in which 18 paratroopers were killed.
Pte. Jones is now buried in Corwen Cemetery, Denbighshire, in Wales.
