The Dorsetshire Regt,. 2nd son of Thomas Wilson, of Garth Cottage, North Ferriby, Coachman, by his wife, Catherine, daughter of the late George Usher, of Hornsea, Hull; born Beeford, near Driffield, Yorkshire, 01 December 1892; educated Turner Memorial School, North Ferriby; was Gardener at Milton Abbey, Blandfort, co. Dorset; enlisted 11 August 1914, after the outbreak of war; served with the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force at Gallipoli from July, 1915, and was killed in action there 21 August following. A brother sergeant wrote: "He was shot in the head, death being instantaneous. I have known him since the war stzarted a year ago, ans always found him one of the best. In losing him the regiment lost a good soldier, and the men of C Company a pal."    Unm.
