Aberdeen, Farmer, by his wife, Margaret, daughter of Donald McKinnon, of Cairnmore; born Tarland, co. Aberdeen, 6 Nov. 1989; educated Logie Coldstone Public School; was manager on his father's farm; joined the 7th Gordon Highlanders in March 1908; was called up on mobilization 4 Aug. 1914, being attached to the Army Cyclist Corps in Feb. 1915, and served with the Expeditionary Force in France and Flanders from the following May; was invalided home in Jan. 1917; on recovery, was attached to the 7th Somerset Light Infantry, and returned to France in Dec. of the same year, and was reported wounded and missing after the operations near St. Quentin 21 March 1918, and is now assumed to have been killed in action on or about that date; unm.
