Obituary, Hull Daily Mail, 04 April 1919:
Mrs. Stephenson of 44 Westwood Road, Beverley, the wodow of Sergeant George Stephenson, Grenadier Guards has received from the Colonel of the regiment the Military Medal awarded to her husband for bravery in the field in nthe breaking of the famous Hindenburg Line on 21st August 1918. Sergeant Stephenson, who was a member of the East Riding police forces, was killed in a later attack on September 3rd, 1918.
