Traherne, Llewellyn Edward, of Coedarhydyglyn, near Cardiff, J. P., Lt.-Commander. Royal Navy, eldest son of the late Llewellyn Edmund Traherne, of Coedarhydyglyn, by his wife, Mary, daughter of Henry Hogard; born Paris, 14 Spetember 1863; joined the Britannia in January 1877, and left in December 1878, having taken the first prize in seamanship that year. He was appointed to H. M. S. Charybdis, then on the China Station, and took passage to her in the Encounter. He served in many stations and qualified in gunnery, gaining 1st Class Certificate in 1890, retiring in 1897. On the outbreak of the European War, at the age of 51, he rejoined as Lt.-Commander (G.) Emergency List, and was promoted to Acting-Commander of the Excellen, 12 October 1914, and died while on active service, of pneumonia, at the Royal Navy Hospital, Haslar, 14 October 1914. He was buried in the Churchyard of the ´Churchyard of the village of St. Nicholas, near Cardiff. Lt.-Commander Traherne married at Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Street, London, 16 April, 1907, Dorothy Emma Olivia, elder daughter of George Felix Standish Sinclair, of 3, Manson Place, London, S. W., and grand-daughter of the late Sir John George Tollemache Sinclair, of Ulster, 3rd Bart., M. P., and had two sons and one daughter: Cennyd George, now of Coedarhydyglyn, born 14 December 1910; John Rhodri Llewellyn, born 24 September 1913; and Margaret Agnes Mary, born 01 December 1908.

A., eldest son of Evan Kent, of 89, Romilly Road, Canton, Cardiff, Engine Driver, by his wife, Annie, daughter of William Branch; born St. Nicholas, near Cardiff, 05 April 1899, educated there, and was subsequently apprenticed on a merchant ship; joined the R. F. A. 23 November 1914; served with the Mediterrancan Expeditionary Force at Gallipoli from April 1915; took part in the landing there, and in the evacuation in January 1916, during which he was nearly drowned by being capsized into the sea; proceeded to Egypt, where he took part in several engagements; was drafted to France in June 1916, after having been in hospital for some time, suffering from trench sores and septic poisonic, and died at No. 3 Canadian General Hospital 20 October 1917, from wounds and gas poisoning received in action at Poelcappelle. Buried at Boulogne; unm.
