Ethel Margaret and William Walter Bainbridge
The "Northern Echo" on 24 October 1925
Newspaper Report - Ethel Margaret and William Walter Bainbridge DECREE GRANTED TO MELSONBY WIFE.

The hearing was continued in the Divorce Court, yesterday, before Lord Merrivale and a common jury of the suit of Mrs. Ethel Margaret Bainbridge, residing at High Grange, Melsonby, asking for the dissolution of her marriage on the ground of the alleged adultery of her husband, Mr. William Walter Bainbridge, farmer, of Carkins Field Farm Forcett, with Miss Mary Hutchinson, the intervener.
Mr. Bainbridge cross-petitioned for a judicial separation because of the alleged cruelty of his wife.
All the parties denied the allegations.
There were three children of the marriage, which was celebrated in 1910. It was a fairly happy marriage, said the wife, until 1922. Then differences arose and adultery was charged with the intervener, formerly employed at the farmhouse, on the evening of 29 January this year, in a hut belonging to Mr. Bainbridge.
