22 May.    Administration (with the will) of the effects of Joseph Bell formerly of Nether Houses, West Allendale in the county of Northumberland afterwards of Ballarat in Australia but late of Mohope in the parish of Allendale in the county of Northumberland, farmer, who died 18 July 1874 at Mohope, was granted at Newcastle-upon-Tyne to Elizabeth Bell of Mohope, widow, the relict the residuary legatee substituted if she remain a widow.

Joseph Bell was baptised in Tynemouth, Northumberland on 11 July 1830. His parents were James and Mary Bell. He was married to Elizabeth Ritson during the 4th quarter of 1857. The marriage was registered in Hexham, Northumberland.
