Ellen Moulton Dunford was born in Burin, Newfoundland, Canada on 25 October 1871. Her parents were Herbert and Charlotte Dunford. She was married to Ernest Inkpen in Burin, Newfoundland, Canada on 18 September 1895.

The Edmonton Journal from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada wrote on 20 October 1962:
INKPEN - On October 19 Mrs. Ellen Moulton Inkpen, 10721 79 Avenue, passed away at home. Surviving are her loving hgusband, Clarence; two sons, John Inkpen and Joseph W. Inkpen, both of Edmonton; four grandchildren and five great.grandchildren.
Service will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in Hainstock's Chapel with Dr. W. T. Young officiating. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Hainstock & Son, Limited, 10541 81 Avenue, South Edmonton.
