The birth of David Wringfield Erskine was registered in Truro, Cornwall, England during the fourth quarter of 1868. His father was David Wingfield Erskine. He was married to Emily Margaretta Blandy in the church of St. Luke in Chelsea, Kensington and Chelsea, England on 10 July 1899. His daughter Violet was baptised on the island of Madeira, Portugal. His daughter Winifred was married to Charles Maxwell Orr Sawers in Bombay, India on 18 October 1923.
