His death was registered in Mile End Old Town, London, England during the fourth quarter of 1871.
The children of James and Elizabeth Hodges were Elizabeth (1811-1823), Thomas (1814-1847), Samuel (1815-1846), John (1816-1866), Mary Ann (1818-1819), Caroline (1820-1843), Henry (1824-1860), Richard George (1828-1875) and Emma (1833-1910).
