Recently I purchased a collection of birth certificates from around 1912 - 1918 of the same family.
They measure 8 x 4 inches and look as if they have been torn from a book.
All writing is full size but there is a copy of a green stamp on bottom right corner. If I didn't know different would say been photocopied. Yet there wasn't any way of doing this then was there.

Details:
Barnaby Hercules, born 11th Jan 1910, at 13 Portugal Street, Garston, Lancashire
Joey? Ralph, born 27 Nov 1911, at 13 Portugal Street, Garston, Lancashire
Margaret Helen, born 25 June 1912, at 13 Portugal Street, Garston, Lancashire
Alphousus David, born 1 Feb 1914, at 13 Portugal Street, Garston, Lancashire
Mary Elizabeth, born 21 April 1915, at 13 Portugal Street, Garston, Lancashire
Gladys Claire, born 5th May 1916, at 13 Portugal Street, Garston, Lancashire
Arthur Harold, born 3rd Oc 1918, at 13 Portugal Street, Garston, Lancashire
Arthur Percival Albert, born 3rd Oct 1918, at 13 Portugal Street, Garston, Lancashire

They all are children of Peggy (Smythe) and Arthur McBride.
The certificates are all signed by registrar etc but also says "so hererby that the above is a true copy of the entry no 7390 in the register book in the said district and that such register book is now in my custody".

I have a feeling they may have come with a batch of legal paperworks but cannot confirm that at all. The paper certainly feels old! I had a search on FREE BMD and not one of the family could I find. Cannot find a thing on the family using free resources. Not one of the 8 children are listed on FREE BMD. Isn't that a bit strange!! They also do not seem to be listed in the census. There are 2 certificates for males born same day: Arthur Harold and Arthur Percival Herbert. Both have the same entry number but written by different registrars.

I am curious about this family and sure there is a story woven around them. Any thoughts please.
