Newspaper Report - William Henry Wharton and Wilfred Ernest Mellor Five Years for Mailbag Thief

Wilfred Ernest Mellor (41), postman, of Crewe, a married man with three children, was sentenced to five Years' penal servitude for the larceny of mailbags at Crewe Station at Chester Assizes yesterday.
William Henry Wharton (33), postman, of Chester, was sentenced to nine months in the second division for stealing letters in course of delivery.
