Richard Griffiths Bramstone-Newman was born in Dublin, Ireland on 19 January 1876 and was baptised on 23 March 1876. His parents were John Adam Richard Newman and Elizabeth Matilda Newman, nee Smith. The family resided at the Charterhouse of Rev. G. S. Davies in Godalming, Surrey, England in 1891. He was married to Beatrice Margery Clegg in Llanfairpwll, Anglesey, Wales on 03 June 1903. He is to find in the Dublin Directory of 1934: Bramston-Newman, Lt.-Col., Richard, 42, Northumberland Road, Pembroke. He died on 03 December 1961 in Ireland. |
Beatrice Margery Clegg was born in Crange, Cheshire, England abt. 1881 and was baptised in Church Hulme, Cheshire, England on 16 July 1881. Her parents were Harry and Sarah Maria Clegg, nee Chadwick. She appears in th passenger list of the ship "Oruba". She travelled from Jamaica to New York and arrived New York harbour on 22 April 1914. Her final target was Malton in Ireland. Her contact person in England was Mr. J. Newman in London. She died in Dublin, Ireland on 28 August 1967.
