Robert Pollard was born in Marylebone, Middlesex, England in 1848. His parents were Robert and Rachel Pollard, nee Rolfe. He was married to Ida S. Holmes in Danville, Vermilion, Illinois, USA on 08 October 1878. He died in Los Angeles, California, USA on 05 March 1935 and was buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in Los Angeles.
