Here at Main Street, Newton, on the 2nd instant, by the Rev. James Stevenson, Mr. Alex. Rodger, carpet weaver, to Anne, daughter of Mr. James McIlraith, carrier, Newton.

Alexander Rodgers was born in Symington, Ayrshire abt. 1837. His parents were Ross and Elizabeth Rodgers, nee Allison. He was married to Anne McIlwraith in Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland on 02 December 1859. Following children of the couple are known: Martgaret (b. 1860), Elizabeth (b. 1863), William E. B. G. (b. 1867), and Annie M. (b. 1869).

Marguerite Gertrude Hendley, reg. 1st quarter of 1873, Portsea Island, Hampshire, England. He died in Liversedge, Yorkshire, England abt. 1910.

Anne McIlraith was born in Newton, Ayrshire, Scotland abt. 1843. Her parents were James and Margaret McIlwraith.
