Thomas Worden Sleep was born in Minzies Downs, St. Neot, Cornwall, England on 11 March 1842 and was baptised in Liskeard, Cornwall, England on 10 April 1842. His parents were Richard and Susanna Sleep, nee Worden. He was married to Amelia Jane Collins in Liskeard, Cornwall, England on 10 May 1863. Following children of the couple are known: John Sleep (1863-1942), Susanna Worden Sleep (1864-1933), Thomas Worden Sleep (1866-1921), George Sleep (1868-1927), Elizabeth Ann Sleep (b. 1871), Kate Sleep (1871-1948), Amelia Jane Sleep (1873-1920), Alice Grace Sleep (1876-1949), Richard Henry Sleep (1878-1968), Arthur William Sleep (1880-1900 (USA)), Edith Sleep (1882-1891, and Frederick Sleep (1884-1886). He died of cancer of the jaw in The Union Infirmary in Liskeard, Cornwall, England on 31 August 1917 and was interred on 05 September 1917.
