John Stephenson and William Bell Richardson
Collision Sequel
CLAIM AND COUNTER CLAIM
UPHELD AT DURHAM COURT

A sequel to a collision between a motor cycle and a motor car was heard at the Durham County Court yesterday, when Wm. Bell Richardson, colliery electrician, of Creaghead, claimed damages amounting to £100 from John Stephenson, of South Pelaw. There was a counter-claim for £39.
Mr. C. R. Fenwick stated that the plaintiff was proceeding on a motor cycle down Nettlesworth-bank, his brother being in the sidecar attached, and at the junction with the main road was run into by the defendant's motor car, which was plying for hire. The machine was damaged and the plaintiff and his brother were injured.
It was urged in defence that the plaintiff ran into the motor car.
His Honour held that there was negligence on both sides, and found for the plaintiff and the counter-claim.
