Bernhard Olai Andersen was a crew member of the D/S Selvik but died, aged 51, ashore in South Shields as the result of an accident. He was the husband of Oline Johanne Johannessen. Son of Gladys Andersen of 73 Linnaeus Street, Anlaby Road, Hull.

In some records his date of birth is given as 28 February 1898.

A 2. Styrmann (2nd mate) in the Norwegian fleet serving aboard the D/S Veni, he died from illness. Recipient of the Krigsmedaljen.
