In affectionate remembrance
of

James,
the beloved husband of
Mary Hindmarch,
of North Seaton, Colliery,
who was killed by a fall of
stone in the pit, Septr 12th 1881,
aged 42 years.
"Beloved in life, lamented in death."

Mary Brown, their daughter,
died April 14th 1873, aged 7 months.

Three of their sons,
Joseph, Thomas & John,
died in infancy.

The above
Mary Hindmarch,
died April 29th 1917, aged 77 years.
Interred at Seaton Hirst.

James Hindmarch was born in Hartley, Northumberland, England abt. 1839. His parents were Thomas and Barbara Hindmarch. His marriage to Mary Thompson Ruddock was registered in Tynemouth, Northumberland, England during the first quarter of 1860. Following children of the couple are known: Mark Thompson Ruddock Hindmarch (1860-1899), George (1861-1951), William (1863-1951), Sarah Jane (1867-1940), Thomas (1870-1943), Barbara Ann (1872-1873), James (1874-1939), and Mary Brown Hindmarch (1879-1881). The death of James Hindmarch was registered in Morphet, Northumberland, England during the third quarter of 1881.

28 December.    Administration of the personal estate of James Hindmarch, late of North Seaton Colliery near Morpeth in the county of Northumberland, back overman, who died 12 September 1881 at North Seaton Colliery, was granted at Newcastle-upon-Tyne to Mary Hindmarch of North Seaton Colliery, widow, the relict.

Mary Thompson Ruddock was born in Blythe, Northumberland, England abt. 1839. Her parents were William and Sarah Ruddock, nee Nicholson. Her death was registered in Morphet, Northumberland, England during the second quarter of 1917.
