Panel Blakeston Family We pray you remember in the Lord
Luke Harrison Blakeston, Priest M. A.
Clare College, Cambridge,
who died August 22nd 1916, aged 55 years,
and is buried at Little Driffield.

And his son
Bernard Moore Blakeston B. A.
Selwyn College, Cambridge,
Lieutenant Gurkha Rifles,
killed in action in Mesopotamia,
March 25th 1917, aged 25 years.

In whose memory the altar in this chancel
is given by Mary Gertrude Blakeston,
wife and mother of the above,
and daughter of the late William Angas,
of this parish.

Receive them O Lord in the land which
is lighted by the Brightness of thy face.

attached 1st Battalion, King Georges Own Gurkha Rifles (Malaun Regiment).
Killed in action Jebel Hamrin 25th March 1917, aged 25 years.
Son of Rev. Luke Harrison Blakeston (late Vicar of Womersley, Yorks) and Mary Gertrude Blakeston (nee Angas).
Born Rotherhithe, LND and noted as 'Theological Student' 1911. Commemorated Basra Memorial.
