Roll of Honour 1914 - 1919

The roll of honour to the 189 men of the 7th Battalion, The Hampshire Regiment who gave
their lives in the Great War, used to hang beside the Battalion's War Memorial in the
Drill Hall, Holdenhurst Road, Bournemouth.

The 7th Battalion was part of the Teritorial Force, which later became the Territotial Army

wore the distinctive cap-badge, which reflected its links to the New Forest.

The Battalion sailed for India in 1914 and saw active service from 1917 in Mesopotamia and
Aden through many of its members also served with other Hampshire Regiment Battalions and
other units.

The Regimental Colours are laid up inside St. Peter's Church and the War Memorial remains
at Holdenhurst Road. The plaques containing the Roll of Honour were placed here and
dedicated on Sunday 11 September 2011.
