Boer War Memorial, 1900 - 1901

Panel 1 This monument is erected by the officers,
non-commissioned officers and men of the
"F" (Oswestry) Company of the 2nd V. B. The
King's (Shropshire Light Infantry) and friends
to commomarate the bravery and devotion of
Lance-Corporal James Kenyon
of the above company who volunteered and served
in South Africa in the Boer War and was mentioned
in despatches for his services.

William Lee

William Lee was married to Abigail Elizabeth Dolbey in Oswestry, Shropshire, England on 17 May 1891. His father was John Lee. His son John Thomas Edward Lee was baptised in the Holy Trinity Church in Oswestry, Shropshire, England on 29 January 1893. His daughzter Sarah Jane Elizabeth Lee was born in Oswestry on 18 February 1895.
