89 Boro, L. I. Soldiers are killed in Action.
Washington, Oct. 20 - The War Department made public today the names of 2,818 soldiers killed in action in the European and Mediterranean areas. The following 89 Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island men are included:

Plate, Pvt., Arthur - Mrs. Gertrude Plate, mother, 28 Stewart Ave., Hempstead

Athur Plate was born on 23 September 1924 in New York. His mother was Gertrude Plate. He served with the 362nd Infantry Battalion, 91st Infantry Division and was fallen on 16 July 1944 in Italy. He was interred in the Long Island National Cemetery, New York, on 17 November 1949.
