Union Beach - Harry W. Ray, 68, of 1261 Wesley Ave., died Sunday in his home.
Born in Wilmington, Del., Mr. Ray moved here 12 years ago. He had resided most of his life in Irvington.
Until his retirement three years ago, he was a first class electrician at the Public Service Gas & Electric Co. generating station, Sewaren. He had been employed by the company 42 years.
Mr. Ray was a member of the Keyport Reformed Church. He was vice president of the Harris Gardens Improvement Association, this place, and a member of the Central Square Club of Roselle; Franklin Lodge F & AM and Franklin Chapter R. A. M., both of Irvington, and Harmony Shrine, Perth Amboy.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lucy Weber Ray; two stepsons, Richard H. Kruschka of West Chester, Pa., and Arthur E. Kruschka of San Mateo, Calif., and three sisters, Mrs. Hannah Schadt of Parsippany and Misses Mildred and Martha Ray, both of Newark.
Services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the John W. Mehlenbeck Funeral Home, Hazlet, with Rev. John H. Sharpe, pastor of the Keyport Reformed Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Shoreland Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hazlet.
