Mr. Thomas James Wise,
owner of what is probably the finest private library in existence, at his home in Heath-drive, Hampstead, aged 77. His reputation was world-wide.

1881 Census, England
His father was Thomas Wise and the family lived in Islington, 3, Thornhill Grove. The mother is not mentioned. Further children: George J. Wise, Henry D. Wise and Herbert A. Wise.

1911 Census, England
Thomas James Wise was born abt. 1860 in Gravesend, Kent, England and was 51 years old in 1911. He resided at 25 Heath Drive, Hampstead, London N W. He was married with Frances Louisa Wise, who was born in Manchester abt. 1873. Their marriage took place abt. 1901. He was an essential oil merchant.
