Obituary of the Week


Nicholas Soyer,famous chef, who invented paper-bag cooking, at Lytham, Lancs, aged 74. Taught cooking to Queen Elizabeth at Glamis Castle when she was a child.

Nicholas Soyer was born in 1862 and was husband of Janet Ellen Beaveridge (1898-1969). He died at Lytham Hall, Ballam Road, Lytham, Lancashire, England on 10 May 1937.
